GSM TestLab
announced

GSM TestLab to make annual awards
Adding to it's recent announcement to perform test reports on hardware and software, GSM has further announced the concept of the GSM TestLab. It has also announced the GSM Awards which are to be awarded at the start of each year. The winners for these new hardware and software awards, will be drawn from tested and review items from the preceding year.
Says GSM's executive editor John Baker, "It's not BAFTA and it's not The Oscars, but we hope that the GSM Awards will become as important and well known in our own industry". ■

Hardware test report imminent

Canon's new imageFORMULA DR-2510C scanner first to feature

GSM kicks off 2008 with its first ever Test Report. To be modelled on the JD Power (motoring) test reports, it is hoped that the industry will come to see test reporting of hardware as much a standard for information management, as it is for industries such as photography and automotive.

'GSM Test Report 001: Canon 2510C Scanner' will be out in the next issue of the magazine (49) due to hit IM industry desks at the start of March.

To encourage subscriptions and advertising tie-ins, there will be a minimum two month hold-back before the report is published online.

Tim Nixon
Editor (Retired)

The IM industry has known Tim Nixon as editor of the Green Sheet magazine for many years. He has now retired and Issue 49 was his last one. We will miss his sense of humour and his expense account.

All enquiries should now go to John Baker. ■

GSM's Australian editor, Laurie talked about his experiences in the microfilm industry and other areas of the business.

"I had not met Laurie before", said GSM's executive editor John Baker, and continued, "It was an enlightening experience, and it is good to know that one of our industry stalwarts is still going strong well after retirement age."
